Dr John Neeld (MD), studied botany in college as an undergraduate. He became interested in healthcare and began a career as a Registered Nurse. He worked primarily in a Newborn Intensive Care Unit caring for premature infants. He then decided to pursue a medical career and attended medical school at the University of Utah. He realized that his true calling was in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) and he remained at the University of Utah for his four year residency.

He served for four years in the US Air Force as a Medical Officer in Anchorage Alaska. After completing his service, he moved to McMinnville in 1997 and has practiced here ever since. He has served as the Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Pediatrics and as Chief of Medical Staff at Willamette Valley Medical Center since 2001. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Medical Specialists and is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Neeld has advanced training and expertise in minimally invasive surgery including laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. These techniques result in less pain, shorter hospital stays, reduced recovery time, and cost savings.

Dr. Neeld and his wife Nancy Manley are involved in projects bringing medical care to developing countries where the needs are great and the resources are limited. They have worked in Guatemala, Ethiopia, and Ghana where they were instrumental in launching a new hospital.

Dr. Brandi Spence (MD), was raised in Dallas, Oregon, and married her high school sweetheart, Andrew. She has a daughter named Adie and a son named Olin and they live in McMinnville. Dr. Spence graduated from Oregon State University, earned her medical degree from Loma Linda University, and then completed an obstetrics and gynecology residency in Asheville, North Carolina.

She specializes in comprehensive obstetrical care, including high risk issues and fertility counseling.

She also provides gynecological care, ranging from contraception to postmenopausal care, as well as in-office and surgical procedures.

“The Willamette Valley is a great fit for my family,” says Dr. Spence. “Both my husband and I grew up nearby and are happy to call McMinnville home. I want to take great care of my patients, and make an impact.” The rural setting is great for raising my kids and growing collection of farm animals, as well as providing the time and space needed to connect with my patients and really get to know them. I get the privelege of guiding women through many stages in life, often welcoming in the next generation.

“My number one concern is the safety of mom and baby,” Dr. Spence adds. “Within this framework, I work with women to have the birth that they want.”

She’s a do-it-yourselfer who loves painting, home renovation, hiking and knitting.

Dr. Gregory Eppard (MD), was raised in Buckley, WA, but moved to Wilmington, NC in his teens where he finished high school & college.  He worked as a paramedic before completing his medical degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and then completed his residency in Obstetrics & Gyncology in Asheville, NC.  He was lucky enough to meet & train with our very own Dr. Spence in Asheville, and this was also where he met his husband, Branden.  He and Branden are proud parents to four spoiled French Bulldogs:  Louis, Maze, Quinn, & Ouiser.  After briefly working in private practice, he relocated to Oklahoma City where he cared for high-risk pregnancies and obstetrical emergencies as an OB Hospitalist.  Looking for a change of pace, and to be closer to family, Dr. Eppard relocated to McMinnville where he is excited to again offer full spectrum obstetrical & gynecological care.  Outside of work, Dr. Eppard enjoys travelling, cooking, exercise, and spending time with his family & friends.
